My workshop-in-waiting

Posted by clariseng at 08:18 PM on May 2, 2008.

I'm turning my room at my mother's house into my workshop. Actually it has been a work in progress since last month, I just got extremely busy that I didn't have time to fix it. And oh, I keep running out of money too, which explains why it is almost completely empty.

Anyway, I think it's a great space! I'm going to turn it into a French room, much like a lady's boudoir. I think I'm going to put a daybed somewhere there. And then a large bookshelf, drawers for my fabrics, throw pillows on the floor (I already found some lovely toille fabric which I'm going to sew into pillow covers), and I'm going to put my sewing machine somewhere there.

When I get rich, this room will be fit for a queen!

On my way!

Posted by clariseng at 02:25 AM on May 7, 2008.

I'm finally starting to get my life back on track. I am slowly (but surely) starting to put order in my life. I have been struggling for some sort of organization ever since I graduated from college last year so this is really nothing short of a breakthrough. As I write this, my mind is actually screaming "Bravo!" in the British accent Ice insists I don't have (but which I'm 100 percent certain I do). I'm allotting time for work, for books, for films, for family and friends, for God. I am no longer slave to a single aspect of my life. So this is what it feels like. To be liberated and be so conscious of the process I can really savor it.

JD's back! :)

Posted by clariseng at 12:11 PM on May 14, 2008.

MY favorite TV shows are back!

New episodes of Scrubs! I missed you JD!

And Tudors second season! I love Henry VIII and Jonathan Rhys Meyers! I actually had a dream that I was his mistress. I was trying so hard not to wake up, I think I slept way until 2.

My sister and I finished marathon-ing (I just invented the word) Will and Grace. It was the first time I saw the show's ending and it broke my heart.

And All about Eve is genius. And Rope (I think this one's my favorite Hitchcock film so far).

I love film.

I wonder where he got it.

Ice and I went to Ateneo this afternoon and we saw a kite that resembled a manananggal. Really. It was black and life-sized and so freaky, it's the coolest kite I have ever seen! I should have taken a picture.

Anyway, it's the first time I have been to my old school in months, and I have to say, it is hands down the most beautiful campus ever! If you've been there (especially lately because there had been a lot of construction going on), you are bound to agree with me. It is such a beautiful school it made me want to become a student again.

Lots and lots of zen gardens. An impressive student orgs center. Beautiful, beautiful architecture. Sprawling lawns. The Church of Gesu. Modern art installations here and there. A Figaro branch right inside the campus. The SOM Mall (although I think they changed its name). Trees! It's so surreal foreign exchange students actually think the Philippines is not at all like the third world country they see on the news.

I should have taken a picture.

Anyway, we took a walk around the campus (Ice wanted to show off the new brick walks) and went to the National Bookstore across the street. And boy did I miss that place! They had a boxed set of Cary Grant DVDs which I was only too happy to buy-- he's my male Audrey Hepburn!

And every tongue, through utter drought,

Was withered at the root;

We could not speak, no more than if

We had been choked with soot.
